While Conte is still in France with his Italy side, but that isn’t stopping the Chelsea brass from revamping the squad for him as the transfer window swung open this morning.
Diego Lopez is the man who the directors have outlined as Asmir Begovic’s replacement. Talks between the parties have proceeded well as Lopez has wanted to remain at a big club. He’s had offers to play with Levante and Espanyol in the past 6 months. Neither enticed him in returning home to Spain.
In order for Lopez to arrive, Begovic must leave, which is a concrete possibility, according to Sky Italia.
The ex-Real Madrid keeper has the experience and attributes to play a strong role in Chelsea’s domestic endeavors. The new season started today for the clubs, Diego Lopez could be the first new man.
Lopez has played in over 350 top flight or European matches over the course of his career.
