Torino
Daniele Padelli – 6 – Untroubled
Was rarely troubled with Napoli’s attackers failing to test the Italian. Whatever little that was thrown his way, he dealt with it admirably.
Cesare Bovo – 6 – Steady
The ex-Roma center back gave another confident and assured performances shackling Callejon as well as distributing the ball well from the back. Struck a good freekick to draw out a quality save from Andujar
Kamil Glik – 7.5 – Strong
Torino’s club captain exerted his stronghold over the game, denying Higuain any space to leave him frustrated. On the other end, attacked Farnerud’s corner bravely to steer it in to the bottom corner.
Emiliano Moretti – 6 – Stable
Moretti gave a typical no nonsense performance, did everything that was asked of him defensively
Bruno Peres – 7 – Marauding
The Brazilian was rampant down the right hand, constantly bombing forward and doing his shift defensively as well. Was easily the brightest player in the first half but faded a bit in second half as Napoli dominated possession.
Alexander Farnerud – 6.5 – Involved
Kept things ticking in the midfield for Torino and did put his body on the line defensively. Delivered the corner for Glik to score.
Alessandro Gazzi – 6.5 – Dominant
Gazzi proved to be a strong presence in the middle of the park and dominated the area aerially. Denied Napoli’s midfield any space or time.
Omar El Kaddouri – 6 – Lively
The Moroccan was the most adventurous of Torino’ s midfield, breaking forward when the chance present. Was lively throughout the game but should have done better with a first half chance.
Matteo Darmian – 6.5 – Hardworking
The highly rated wing back was not his usual rampant self as he was doubled on Callejon and Maggio along with Bovo. Dominated his flank to deny Napoli any joy.
Josef Martinez – 5.5 – Limited
Got no joy or a real chance from the game but didn’t stop working hard. Will have games where he will be more involved with the attacking play and will see the ball more.
Fabio Quagliarella – 6 – Effort
The evergreen Italian worked his socks off by continuously being available in attack and not at all shirking his defensive duties when required.
Substitutes
Maxi Lopez – 5 – Willing
Came on for Martinez, but didn’t fare much better that the Venezuelan. Though he did provide a good option for hold up play.
Amauri – N/A
Migjen Basha – N/A
