Bellusci leaves Leeds, signs with Empoli

The Leeds United centerback has left the club and signed with Empoli.

A busy day for Empoli as they have completed three signings on the opening day of the transfer window.

The latest signing is Giuseppe Bellusci from Leeds in England’s Championship. After spending two years in England, the 26 year old has returned to familiar territory.

In a statement from his agent Silvio Pagliari, they confirmed the move. 

“After two years in the English Championship with Leeds United, Giuseppe Bellusci is again in Serie A. The 26-year old defender born in 1989, who has picked up more than 100 appearances in Serie A, is officially a player of Empoli Calcio. Bellusci transfers on a loan to buy deal.”

Bellusci made a total of 61 appearances with the former Premier League side.

De Rossi trains with the squad, 50-50 for Germany clash

Daniele De Rossi did not fully train with the group today but seems less doubtful as before.

After undergoing specialised treatment, Daniele De Rossi joined the rest of the squad for the second part of training at the Bernard Gasset centre. Antonio Candreva continued on his personal recovery programme following the injury to his right hamstring.

Evidently, things are improving for De Rossi and Conte will wait until the very last possible minute to decide whether or not he plays against the Germans on Saturday.

Juventus’ Stefano Sturaro is the auxiliary midfielder for this role as backup Thiago Motta is suspended for the clash and therefore cannot participate.

At 18:00 CEST, the squad will fly to Bordeaux on a charter flight before inspecting the Stade de Bordeaux’s pitch at 19:00 CEST. The stadium was specifically built for the tournament and it hosted its first match on 23 May 2015. Coach Antonio Conte and captain Gigi Buffon will then take part in a press conference at 19:15 CEST.

Fiorentina refuse to release Mario Gomez, ask for €6 million

The Germany striker will not be released for free, says Fiorentina’s DS.

His revival at the Euro has boded well for business as Fiorentina will be able to recoup some of the cash they invested into Gomez some years ago.

According to La Repubblica, the first offer from Besiktas didn’t convince DS Corvino. The Turkish club offered a €3 million bid, but the Viola want about double that figure. Other interested clubs are Atletico Madrid, Wolfsburg Espanyol, Valencia and even a few MLS clubs. 

All these clubs are interested, but there’s one problem, they want Gomez on a free transfer and Fiorentina simply refuse to rescind their agreement with Gomez.

His contract expires in 2017, but from that point of view, this represents a good problem for Fiorentina because now they don’t have to give him for free. Last season Gomez played for Besiktas on loan.

Marko Pjaca close to Inter: The details

The Nerazzurri are on the brink of completing the signing of Croatian winger Marko Pjaca.

Half of Italy’s giants are pushing for the impressive Croatian starlet, but now it seems Inter are the closest to signing for him. 

According to Mediaset, Inter and Dinamo Zagreb had already reached an agreement on the base fee of €8 million. However with so much competition and Pjaca’s value increasing, Inter are hoping to close the deal for around €15 million.

Inter and Dinamo Zagreb have an excellent after closing several deals in the past, including the signings of Marcelo Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic. With this business relationship and the Nerazzurri’s willingness to raise their offer, the deal could be closed shortly.

Pjaca, 21, has already made 11 appearances and scored a goal for the senior Croatia national team. Last season for his club, he scored 12 goals in 42 matches in all competitions.

OFFICIAL: Empoli sign Inter’s DiMarco on loan

The rebuilding Tuscan side has signed youngster Federico DiMarco.

The club released a statement on social media to confirm the signing.

“Empoli FC announces to have signed Federico DiMarco on a temporary basis from FC Internationale Milano. The club reserves the right to buy the player out, and Inter also reserves the right to counter-buy.”

Turning only 18 last November, DiMarco has been capped 13 times by the Italy U-19 side.

Lazio To Part Ways With Marchetti

The Italian shot-stopper will have to find himself a new home for the 2016/2017 season as Lazio look to offload the goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.

As reported by Corriere della Sera, Federico Marchetti will leave Lazio at the conclusion of the European Championship, despite a contract ending in 2018. Claudio Lotito has two preferred clubs where he would like to sell the 33-year goalkeeper to. The first being Juventus, where they would hope they can get the Bianconeri to insert Mauricio Isla in a deal. The second is Liverpool, who have already shown interest in the past, due to possibility of it being a direct sale with a cash return for Lotito.

This past season at Lazio, Marchetti made 29 appearances and finished the year with 11 clean sheets to his name.

Italy Announce Their Pre-Selection Player List For The Under-19 EURO

Italy U-19 reveal the list of players called up for two pre-tournament friendlies leading up to the U-19 EURO.

As per TMW, Italy’s Under-19 CT, Paolo Vanoli, called up 27 players who will be evaluated over the course of two friendlies, in preparation to make the final cuts for the 2016 UEFA Under-19 EURO to commence in Germany on July 11th. Italy will play their first friendly against NK Olimpija Ljubljana on Monday July 4th and then against Leyton Orient three days later, on Thursday July 7th. Both friendlies will be played at Coverciano’s Technical Center.

Vanoli will trim the list to 18 players and announce the final squad on July 8th. Here is the current list of the 27 players selected, with Milan having the most players represented, at five.
