Pontedera Acquire Goalkeeper Gianclaudio Lori From Ancona

The young 21-year old shot-stopper will be joining the Granata on loan for the upcoming season.

As reported by TuttoLegaPro, U.S. Citta di Pontedera have acquired via a temporary loan, Gianclaudio Lori from Ancona. He has spent the last two seasons playing in Lega Pro as the starter for Ancona where he has appeared in a combined 60 games across all competitions and earned 24 clean sheets along the way.

REPORT: Hernanes To Genoa Is A Done Deal

Hernanes was being closely followed by Genoa for the past few days and appears to be their latest signing.

Italian football journalist Damiano Giordano reported that Hernanes to Genoa is a done deal. The former Inter man is set to join I Grifoni on a loan deal for the rest of the season. After being signed by Juventus on deadline day last year, Hernanes never fully kicked on in Turin. Outside of a few impressive performances, most notably against Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Hernanes never fully replicated his Lazio form.

His move to Genoa perhaps paves the way for Witsel’s move to Juve. Before it was reported that the Italian champions wouldn’t sell Hernanes unless Witsel was on the way. With Hernanes’ move all but sealed, it remains to be seen whether or not the Belgian will arrive.

The Uruguayan will be filling in the shoes Marcos Alonso leaves behind after his move to Chelsea was just announced. The deal is a temporary loan followed by an obligation to buy the player once the loan is over.

Fiorentina owner Pantaleo Corvino will now search for a goalkeeper in Atalanta’s Sportiello and a midfielder in West Ham’s Obiang during the final hours of deadline day.

Sassuolo To Keep Gian Marco Ferrari On Loan At Crotone For The Season

Sassuolo continuing to make smart purchases on the transfer market, the latest being the purchase of one of Crotone’s top defensive performers.

Following the loans of Marcello Trotta and Diego Falcinelli to Crotone, Sassuolo have bought themselves one of the standout defenders in Serie B last season. As per Sportitalia, the Neroverdi have signed center-back Gian Marco Ferrari from the Calabrian club for a fee of €5 million and have decided to leave the 24-year old on loan at his former club for the season.

Ferrari had been a part of the exodus of players who left Parma after their relegation to Serie D due to bankruptcy and signed with Crotone last summer via a free transfer. His performances were key in helping Crotone break into the top flight for the first time in club history. Appearing in 41 games last season in Serie B, he collected a goal and two assists.

Chelsea Homecoming For David Luiz Could Signal End of Koulibaly Move?

Antonio Conte looks to have made his second signing of the day as former player David Luiz agrees a move back to Chelsea, so what does this mean for Kalidou Koulibaly?

Chelsea FC confirmed the move in a statement saying “Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz back to London. The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.”

Conte had been chasing Kalidou Koulibaly all summer, with multiple bids for the player rejected by Napoli.
A deal for Torino defender for Nikola Maksimović was also rumoured, with Napoli also keen on the player to replace Koulibaly himself in the team.

With the signing of Marcos Alonso and now the return of David Luiz back to Stamford Bridge. it’s all but certain the Senegalese defender will not be leaving Napoli this summer as the London club find the centre-back they need to partner John Terry in defence.

Carlo Tavecchio: ”I Expect An Italy That Wins”

The current FIGC President continues to praise Ventura as being the perfect fit for the job and confirms he has the backing of everyone in Italy.

Addressing the media at the Federal Council prior to his departure to Bari for Italy’s friendly against France, FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio spoke about why Azzurri boss Giampiero Ventura is the right man to guide La Nazionale:

I expect an Italy that wins or at least one that can make a good impression. At this moment, Ventura has all the support, he is the right person at the right time. Afterwards, the field will talk.

Tavecchio had the opportunity to talk about the use of Video Assistant Referees which will be tested for the first time in tomorrow’s friendly:

Tomorrow will be the first experimentation with VAR (Video Assistant Referees) and all those that have said that Italy are not ready, were wrong. Italy is the first in the world to experiment with it and this is great recognition we’ve received from FIFA. For this, FIFA President Gianni Infantino will be in attendance.

Milan Attempt To Hijack Cagliari’s Deal For Mati Fernandez

Milan are in the market for another midfielder and have set their sights on Fiorentina’s Mati Fernandez.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina and Cagliari have reached an agreement that would see the player join the newly-promoted side on a free loan deal. Milan, however, would like to sign the player and are attempting to hijack the deal. Galliani has reportedly called the player’s agent to tell him to wait before his client signs with Cagliari.

As a result, the player’s move to Cagliari has stalled as Milan are trying to reach an agreement that would see him join the club immediately. Mari Fernandez has already played under Vincenzo Montella at Fiorentina and would already be familiar with the tactician’s system. In addition, the midfielder wouldn’t cost Milan a single euro making him an ideal target.

OFFICIAL: No Napoli for Martins Indi, Stoke City acquire the defender

The Dutch defender had been consistently linked with Napoli this summer.

While the Partenopei continue to wait for Maksimovic to arrive in Rome, the Potters have gone and snagged their fall back plan.

In a statement released from Stoke City’s official website, the club confirms they have signed the central defender.

“Stoke City have completed their third signing of transfer deadline day by securing the services of highly-rated Dutch international defender Bruno Martins Indi. The 24-year-old arrived at the Clayton Wood Training Ground on Wednesday morning to finalise his season-long loan switch from Portuguese giants FC Porto. The terms of the agreement also include an option for the Potters to make the deal permanent at the end of the 2016/17 campaign.”

Adriano Galliani and A.C. Milan have been rather quiet the last few days of the mercato, but have reportedly checked in on Zenit’s Ezequiel Garay.

The latest on the Rossoneri comes from Sky who have reported that Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has checked in on the availability of Zenit St. Petersburg central defender Ezequiel Garay.

The Milanese club would have explored bringing him to the club on a loan, however their efforts have been denied.

Garay had been tossed in the mix for Antonio Conte’s Chelsea who lack depth in the center of the defense. But, with the addition of Marcos Alonso, and rumors of a David Luiz return, the ex-Benfica man is likely to remain in Russia.

The Bergamo-based club has completed the capture of 24 year-old Serbian Aleksander Pesic.

The deal is set to be €200,000 loan with a € 1.5 million right to buy outright.

The former Italy international is prepared to sit at Sampdoria.

No deal for Cassano, it seems he would rather stay at Sampdoria out of spite than move to a new club. Yesterday, he skipped on a meeting with President Ferrero, who then told the press that Cassano was “off the roster”.

Cassano’s agent, Giuseppe Bozzo was meeting with the Palermo directory, however no terms could be agreed upon because the player rejected the destination, according to Sky.

Bologna have confirmed the signing of Roma striker Omar Sadiq and Roma defender Vasilis Torosidis.

The deal is a reportedly permanent one, with Roma looking to make space for the new signings this busy transfer window.

19-year-old Sadiq was said to be one of the hot prospects on the Roma squad however he has only featured 6 times for the club since joining in 2015.

31-year-old Torosidis has made 60 appearances for the club, but is no longer needed following the signings of Vermaelen, Fazio, Peres, and Jesus.

OFFICIAL: Juan Cuadrado signs with Juventus: The Details

The Colombian has officially signed with Juventus.

Cuadrado arrives on a loan with obligation to buy deal that runs until 2019.

“Juventus FC announced to have defined the agreement with the club Chelsea FC for the acquisition, on loan until June 30th 2019 of the player Juan Guillermo Cuadrado Bello, for an upfront fee of €5 million.”

“Juventus also has the ability to acquire the player outright, or is obliged to if the player reaches a certain amount of predetermined objectives for the duration of the loan for a fee of €25 million, payable in three sections.”

The winger returns to Italy to play again for Juventus. In the past he’s played for Fiorentina, Lecce and Udinese.

Hernanes Inching Closer To Genoa Move

Juventus midfielder Hernanes appears to be on his way out from the club and will move to Genoa.

Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Genoa have signed Davide Brivio from Atalanta and are extremely close to acquiring Hernanes from Juventus. Genoa’s president Enrico Preziosi confirmed the move for Brivio on the official website saying:

“For the player, it’s a return to the most ancient club in Italy where he played in 2008/2009.” 

When it comes to Hernanes, however, the Brazilian’s move to Genoa is all but done. Once Cuadrado and Witsel put pen to paper on deals, the former Inter man will be free to leave the club. This transfer has been agreed to from yesterday and Juventus are only waiting for their new signings to arrive before making the announcement.

AC Milan have made a late attempt to bring in Venezuelan midfielder Thomas Rincon, which Genoa have responded to with a direct “No”.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport Rossoneri coach Galliani made a last minute swap attempt for Genoa’s Rincon, offering Andrea Poli in return. The deal was immediately shut down by Genoa who highly value the 28-year-old.

Rincon is the current captain of the Venezuelan national team, making 75 appearances for his country since 2008.

Mario Balotelli can be considered the newest striker for Ligue 1 side Nice after Liverpool have given a green light on the loan deal.

26 year-old Balotelli had his medical at Nice this morning but was awaiting the final ‘OK’ from Liverpool’s offices. All that’s left is the official statement from the clubs.

Nice beat competition from Palermo, Everton and Crystal Palace for the signing of the Italian striker.

OFFICIAL: Queen’s Park Rangers sign Verona’s Wszolek

The London-based club will welcome the Serie B owned Polish midfielder.

Both clubs have confirmed Pawel Wszolek will sign with QPR this season from Hellas Verona. The English side just released a statement moments ago.

“QPR have secured the loan signing of Polish international midfielder Pawel Wszolek. The 24 year-old wide-man has agreed a season-long loan deal from Italian side Hellas Verona.

Wszolek – who has made eight appearances for his country, scoring twice – underwent a medical in Warsaw whilst on international duty earlier today, before putting pen to paper on the deal.”

Hellas Verona echoed QPR’s announcement by stating the Polish player was leaving on a one-year loan deal.

Simunovic’s Move To Torino At Risk Following Medical

Torino have been active on the transfer window replacing Nikola Maksimovic but have hit a hiccup.

Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Jozo Simunovic’s move to Torino is at risk following his failed medical. The medical indicated some serious issues in the player’s knee following his operation a few months back.

Torino had reached an agreement with Celtic of 4.5 million euros but are now weighing their options. In the coming hours they will decide whether the defender’s knee problems can be easily cured or if they can find a deal for another player. As the medical comes up negative, Simunovic may just stay at Celtic.
