Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi has praised his side’s performance in their 2-1 win against Feyenoord at De Kuip on Thursday night.
Goals from Adem Ljajic and Gervinho helped the Giallorossi secure progression to the Round of 16 by an aggregate score of 3-2 despite the crowd trouble that followed Mitchell te Verde’s sending off, leading the game to be halted for 15 mintues.
“It’s unacceptable to concede against 10 men, but maybe the stoppage of play cooled us down,” he told Mediaset.
“We were good from the start, unlike the performance at the Stadio Olimpico where the team struggled.
“A turning point in our season? It surely was a decisive game, we were either in the competition or out.
“We really care about the Europa League, it reminds me of my adolescence when I used to watch Roma play in the UEFA Cup.
“Juventus on Monday? It’s another important game, and a win might reopen the race for the Serie A title.”
