The 30-year-old, whose current contract with the Bianconeri is set to expire in June, has been heavily linked with a January move to Manchester United due to complications in negotiating a new agreement with the Old Lady, but is now apparently on the verge of signing a renewal with the Turin giants.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Swiss international’s new contract will see him remain at Juventus until 2017, with an option to extend his stay until 2018 in time, and will have him earn around €3 million per season.
Reports suggest that while negotiations are now complete between Juve and the former Lazio man, the reigning Serie A champions will hold off on officially announcing the news until mid-January.
Lichtsteiner has scored two goals and provided four assists in his 15 Serie A appearances this season thus far.
