The meeting is to promote the Scholas Occurrentes, a Pope Francis inspired body which promotes social responsibility in education, which aims to connect thousands of students around the world studying arts, sport and technology.
According to El Mundo Deportivo, the meeting between the Pope, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and vice-president of the Catalan clubs social sector Jordi Cardoner, is scheduled to last 13 hours.
It is thought the Vatican are looking to seek cooperation and sign an agreement between the Barcelona Foundation and Scholas Occurrentes.
