Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco has stated that his side deserved to lose against Fiorentina on Saturday night.
The Neroverdi were dealt a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Vincenzo Montella’s men, and Di Francesco was full of praise for La Viola.
“They deserved to win,” he told Sky Sport. “They were really good on the ball and physically they were excellent.
“We were hasty and we could’ve made use of our chances better, but they held onto the ball really well.
“In order to grow, you have to change the attitude; we deserved to lose and in the upcoming game against Napoli we’ll be much more ruthless.
“[Simone] Missiroli? He was out injured for 10 days, I couldn’t risk him from the start.”
The former Roma midfielder concluded his words by voicing his support for Carpi against Lazio president Claudio Lotito who claimed that sides with a limited fanbase like the Biancorossi will affect Serie A’s marketing value.
“I read the Lotito issue, and I’m definitely on Carpi’s side,” he stated.
