Former Parma defender and current free agent Felipe has released a statement thanking Inter for the opportunity to earn a contract with the club.
The defender followed Antonio Cassano’s lead and walked away from Parma amidst the financial crisis the club is facing, and the former Udinese player has confirmed he has held talks with Inter.
“I’d like to thank the club for this opportunity,” Felipe said in a statement released through Sky Sport Italia.
“I don’t feel like I am on trial, I have no expectations; if the coach and the club decide they need me, I will be ready.”
Reports suggest that Inter are unlikely to make a decision on whether or not to sign the defender before Thursday’s UEFA Europa League encounter against Celtic.
The 30-year-old Brazilian central defender has spent his entire career in Italy, with spells at Fiorentina, Cesena, Siena and Parma since making his debut for the Zebrette in April 2003.
