La Viola coach Recently Vincenzo Montella is in the market for a right sided player following Juan Cuadrado’s move to Chelsea.
Sky Sport Italia are reporting the club are struggling to find an agreement with Barcelona, and any deal is now likely to go through in the summer.
The young Spaniard’s contract at the Catalan club runs until June 2018, however Montoya is thought to be frustrated at his lack of minutes on the pitch at the Camp Nou this season.
A product of Barcelona’s youth system, Montoya has scored one goal in 41 appearances for the Catalan club. Montoya has made just four appearances in La Liga this season.
