The Flying Donkeys coach was especially happy with the six points that his team has picked up from their last two games.
“We are satisfied because with have picked up six points in five days,” said Maran to Chievo’s official website after the Sampdoria win.
“The performance that Parma put in today away at Roma shows how tough our win was at the Stadio Ennio Tardini.”
“We met a good team in Sampdoria and had to do things perfectly and intensely.
“I have to compliment the boys who put in a great performance and picked up a great win.
“We started well and did what we had to do.
“We put in so much sacrifice and effort that we really deserved the result, especially in the second half when we gave away little, if the penalty for the foul on [Alberto] Paloschi had been given then we could have closed the game at 3-0.
“I changed shape at the beginning of the second half as we were tiring a bit and struggling to get up the pitch, but after that tactical change the team really grew into the game and everybody put in a good performance.”
Chievo’s upcoming game will be away to Empoli on February 22.
