Fiorentina new boy Mohamed Salah is happy to have joined the Viola and that he thinks that the move could be a step forward in his career.
The 22-year-old Egypt international joined Fiorentina on loan as part of the deal that saw Juan Cuadrado join Chelsea late on transfer deadline day and Salah spoke of his switch for the first time on Wednesday.
“I’m really happy to be here, I hope it will be a step forward in my career,” he told Fiorentina’s official website.
“I saw the game against Roma yesterday and I enjoyed it a lot, now we get to play Juventus in the semi finals of the Coppa Italia.
“[Facing Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League?] I played against them in the Europa League when I was at Basel and I scored an important goal that helped us qualify.
“I love this competition and I hope that we can do well.”
He also revealed that he spoke with his fellow countryman and Viola player Ahmed Hegazy ahead of his move.
“I spoke with Hegazy and he spoke very highly of Fiorentina and of Florence.”
