Torino coach Giampiero Ventura has stated that the UEFA Europa League tie against Athletic Club is an important page in the club’s history.
The Granata will face the Bilbao-based club on Thursday, and Ventura has reiterated that his side can progress to the Round of 16 despite Los Leones having the away goal advantage after a 2-2 first leg draw in Turin.
“It is an important page in the club’s history,” he said. “We qualified for Europe after so many years, and now we could potentially reach the Round of 16.
“It’s nice to come here to Bilbao and play against a tough team, rich in history.
“It will be far from easy especially after the 2-2 draw at home, but we’re aiming to qualify.
“We mustn’t be naive, they’re a very strong side but if we play like we always do we can cause them trouble.
“We have lots of respect for them, they’re a solid group who don’t depend on a single player.
“About 2500 fans have come to see us, we must believe in ourselves.
“My future doesn’t depend on the game tomorrow, the match is a club milestone.”
