Chievo are closing in on a deal to sign Parma’s out of favour striker Nicola Pozzi after having failed in their pursuit of other targets.
The Gialloblu had attempted to sign both Bologna’s Rolando Bianchi and Sassuolo’s Sergio Floccari but ultimately they were unable to agree on a deal for either of the veteran forwards and as a result they have turned their attention to Pozzi.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Chievo president Luca Campedelli is now keen to bring in the 28-year-old Pozzi as a replacement for Maxi Lopez, who departed for Torino earlier in the transfer window.
Pozzi has played for no fewer than eight different sides during his career and enjoyed his most successful spells with Empoli and Sampdoria. He joined the Ducali at the start of the current season but has only managed a measly 34 minutes of football in his three appearances, all of which came from the bench.
