The agent of Palermo star Franco Vazquez claims his client is ready for the step up to big club in the near future.
The 25-year-old Argentinian attacking midfielder has been a revelation for the Rosanero this campaign, putting in a number of impressive performances – his latest, a man of the match display against Napoli on the weekend.
Fernando Cosentino, Vazquez’s agent, recently spoke to Tuttomercatoweb on a range of issues including his recent renewal, an Italian national team call-up and a possible move away from the club.
“Franco has grown so much at Palermo. He needed to acclimatize and to be trusted, and he has that now and it is paying off,” Cosentino said.
“The renewal was a sign of respect and gratitude to the club. Franco is old enough to make the step up, and if we would receive a big bid, we would assess it.
“[Interest from Inter and Juventus] To my knowledge, nothing official. But we are flattered by these rumors, and if they are true, then of course we’d like it.
“At Palermo, Franco is happy and in June we will see what happens in the market. We will look around, depending on the offers that arrive.
“[Palermo boss Beppe] Iachini has even said that Vazquez deserves a call-up to the Azzurri. The last word then is up to Conte.”
