The 25-year-old Argentinian put in a tremendous shift for the Sicilian outfit, netting once and assisting the other two as Palermo put a stop to Napoli’s winning streak.
“We played a perfect match, and we came out winners,” Vazquez told Sky Sport Italia after the match.
“An Italy call-up? I will do everything to bring Palermo as high as we can go, then we’ll see. I would love to play for the Azzurri, it is one of the strongest in the world.
“Will we see the Dybala-Vazquez combination next year? I don’t know, Paulo is having a fantastic season, and surely it will be difficult [to keep him]. We’ll have to see.”
The win ensures Palermo move up to seventh temporarily on the Serie A table, nine points adrift of third-placed Napoli.
