Roma defender Kostas Manolas has revealed that he’s hoping to win the Scudetto with the capital city club this season and admits that his team’s draw with Lazio was disappointing.
The Giallorossi currently sit in second place in the Serie A standings with 40 points, just three points behind league leaders Juventus, after their 2-2 draw in the Derby della Capitale on Sunday and the 23-year-old is confident that Rudi Garcia’s men possess the talent to overcome the Bianconeri before the campaign comes to a close.
Manolas spoke to Roma Radio about the derby result and commented on Roma’s determination to finish the season in first place.
“There were great emotions in the derby, the fans were fantastic,” said the Greek international.
“However, we didn’t win and this is not good. We always try to get motivated before training.
“[Lazio defender Luis Pedro] Cavanda? I would wait for him and then pass him on the run. It was simple.
“I’ll be happy at the end of the season if we manage to win the Scudetto. We all want to win it.
“And who says that you can’t win it with three Greeks in the squad? At Olympiacos we had won everything.”
