Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman has revealed that he has been working much harder than an average player in order to make his knee stronger since returning from injury earlier this season.
The 24-year-old, who had required surgery after suffering a serious knee injury in March 2014 and was out of action until making his return in the Giallorossi’s 3-0 win over Torino on November 9, admits that his rehabilitation process has been tough but insists that he’s focused on returning to top form as soon as possible.
Strootman spoke in a video posted on his official Facebook page on Thursday about his recovery and commented on his mission to make his knee stronger than it ever was.
“For the last eight months I’ve been doing all of the proper exercises because I need to for my benefit,” said the Dutch international.
“I need to do these exercises more than the average player who hasn’t had surgery so I can make my knee stronger than it was before, and this is the most important reason for my rehabilitation process.”
