Juventus manager Max Allegri looked to the positives after his team’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Parma on Wednesday night in the Coppa Italia.
“I think we played a very good game against a Parma that gave us a hard time and closed down all our space,” said Allegri to RaiUno journalists after the game. “These knockout games are never easy to win, I’d say the team played with maturity. Morata did very well to finish one of the few chances he had, on an assist from Llorente. I’d say that we found real difficulties in this match, rather than us being too soft. Parma played a very aggressive game. We put in a lot of crosses but couldn’t finish them. But sometimes games are won like this too, the important part is just to stay focused and eventually a solution presents itself.”
Rai: Who impressed you most of the players on the pitch today?
Allegri: “I think everyone did well, Pepe and Coman but also Ogbonna and Padoin. This result demonstrates that the team is in good form and whoever I call is ready to make a difference.”
Rai: What gave you the idea to make the change to two center forwards, instead of a first and second striker?
“Llorente needed someone playing closer by to him, and Morata has the characteristics to bring out his best abilities, since he’s very good at passing the ball with his teammates.”
