This transfer window is becoming a fire sale of strikers, with Genoa striker Alessandro Matri the latest rumored to be on his way elsewhere.
Genoa president Enrico Preziosi reportedly met with Juventus today to gauge interest from the Italian champions in taking back Matri, who played for Juve from 2011-2013. Juventus are still working on resolving Sebastian Giovinco’s contract in a way that would see him leave Turin for Toronto before the close of this window, and are known to be on the lookout for a replacement striker. Further contacts are expected in the next few days, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, with Lazio and Cagliari. Genoa, who are still rumored to be linked with Roma’s Marco Borriello, appear determined to offload Matri.
