Mohamed Salah is reportedly close to completing a loan switch to Serie A with Roma having failed to establish himself at Chelsea.
Salah has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge over the last few months, with Roma said to be in the process of negotiating an 18-month deal at a cost of €500,000.
According to Rome daily Il Tempo, there were several contacts made on Monday between officials at the two clubs involved, while the Giallorossi hope to put an appearance-related buying clause in place allowing them to seal Salah’s services outright for €14 million when triggered.
However, Il Tempo suggest the Premier League leaders would be looking at closer to €16 million in order to sanction such an agreement.
Egyptian Salah joined Chlesea from Basel in January last year for around €14 million, but he has since made only ten league appearances and failed to start a single top-flight game this term.
