Juventus goalkeeper Marco Storari admitted that his team found more difficulties than they expected in their eventual 1-0 win over Parma in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday evening.
“We had a lot of trouble winning this one,” said Storari to Rai1 reporters after the match. “We found a very in-form Parma facing us, who deserve a lot of credit. We started out a little bit soft, but we really wanted this game to qualify for the semifinal, so we managed it in the end. This is a competition that means a lot to us because it’s been a long time since we won it, and anyways we always want to win every game we play.”
Rai1: Morata shook things up after coming on as a substitute.
Storari: “That’s part of the strength of Juventus, every player who comes on as a substitute has the quality to bring more to the team. It’s something we work on, because that’s something that defines a top team.”
Rai1: Would you say you underestimated your opponents?
Storari: “We definitely started the game weakly. I don’t know if we underestimated them exactly, but we certainly could have gone out of the gates with a different mentality. But Parma also deserve a lot of credit, they played a great game despite all the problems their club are having lately.”
