Torino boss Giampiero Ventura has welcomed new signing Maxi Lopez to the club and admitted that he’s hoping the striker can help the Granata overcome their goalscoring woes.
The 30-year-old was officially announced as a Toro player on Tuesday after completing his move from Chievo for an undisclosed fee and is expected to already be used in the tactician’s line up for the club’s Coppa Italia clash with Lazio on Wednesday.
Ventura spoke to the official Torino website about Lopez’s arrival and gave his best wishes to striker as he prepares to begin his new journey in Turin.
“I’d like to welcome Maxi Lopez to the club and wish him the best of luck in this new situation,” said the 66-year-old.
“We hope that he can give us a hand now that he’s here.”
The Argentine then issued a response to his new coach, promising to give his all for the benefit of Torino.
“I will do my best to honour the Torino shirt and give the fullest commitment to my team-mates,” he said.
