Torres, who will be joining Atletico Madrid on a year and a half loan from AC Milan, arrived in Madrid from Dubai on Tuesday December 30 and underwent his medical examination in Majadahonda on Wednesday morning .
“Everything went well, I cannot wait to get to know my team-mates and start training,” said Torres to the gathered media.
After the successful medical, the Spaniard has now completed the final process of his highly anticipated return to his boyhood club Atletico Madrid.
The player will be presented to the crowd on Sunday January 4 at the Vicente Calderon Stadium with his transfer becoming official the following Monday.
Torres is then expected to make his second debut for his first club when Atletico Madrid takes on Spanish champions Real Madrid in their midweek Copa del Rey clash.
The 30-year-old Spaniard had joined Atletico Madrid as a youth in 1995, before leaving for Liverpool in 2007.
Torres made a total of 10 Serie A appearances during his spell at Milan and scored once for the Rossoneri.
