The Bianconeri are in the market for a capable midfielder in January, and have established contact for Galatasaray and Netherlands midfielder Wesley Sneijder.
Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Juventus have initiated talks with Sneijder’s entourage for a possible transfer, but have not yet approached his Turkish employers directly. Sneijder has not gotten paid the past 2-3 months, which could serve to make negotiations quicker and easier. If a move for the Dutchman does not work out, Diamanti and Shaqiri are options that could also be considered.
Since departing Inter Milan in favor of Istanbul in January of 2013, Sneijder has scored 25 goals and provided 11 assists to his teammates in nearly 80 matches, and has won the Turkish league and cup once each. Additionally, he experienced the joy of knocking Juventus out of the 2013/14 Champions League with a last-gasp strike in their final group stage match.
