One of the early headlines of the Mercato in Serie A has been German striker/winger Lukas Podolski signing for Inter Milan, but Arsene Wenger reiterates he wants Podolski to stay at Arsenal.
After the Gunners’ 2-1 win against West Ham United on Sunday, Wenger commented on the German international
“I want and hope that Lukas Podolski remains at Arsenal.”
Wenger was also quick to dismiss Inter Milan’s reported £1.5m offer for Lukas Podolski.
“The offer from Inter? It is a joke. It is not serious”.
The Nerazzurri reportedly offered Arsenal £1.5m to loan Podolski to Milan for the rest of the season, with an option to buy for £5.5m in the summer.
Podolski’s failure to break into the Arsenal side is no secret, with only one start and four substitute appearances in the Champions League, but he boasts an impressive 3 goals in 129 minutes of football. Podolski has made no starts in the Premier League this season, with seven substitute appearances and no goals or assists.
