Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar has revealed that he’s aiming to continue his career with the Gigliati for quite some time and is hoping to maintain his key role in the squad.
The 21-year-old has been doing well to fill the shoes of an injured Giuseppe Rossi this term, having provided four goals and one assist in his 12 Serie A appearances thus far, and he admits that he’d like to score more in order help his club earn a place in the top three to qualify for the Champions League.
Babacar spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about his future at Fiorentina and commented on the club’s goals for the remainder of the campaign.
“My goal is to stay in Florence, while playing a little more,” said the Senegalese striker, whose current contract is set to expire in June 2016.
“We can recover and earn a Champions League position, maybe with some help from my goals. From what we have seen in the group stage of the competition, not even Roma and Juventus are stronger than us.”
