A.C. Milan and 30-year old Dutchman Nigel de Jong could finally come to an agreement that would keep the former Manchester City man in red and black
After weeks and months of speculation surrounding the future of Nigel de Jong in Milan, it appears that it could all come to an end, a positive one at that for the rossoneri. According to Sky and Gianluca Di Marzio, the former Manchester City man will sign a contract extension with the Italian club within the next few days. The deal will reportedly be for two years, keeping the Dutch international in red and black and perhaps a vital piece to newly appointed manager Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad.
de Jong, 30, has been one of few bright spots for the Rossoneri these past few seasons with his contributions on the pitch as an anchor in the defensive-midfield role. Despite rumors linking the club with French and Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia, it appears that the club views both as important players for next season and beyond.
The ex-Ajax and Hamburger SV man was a mainstay in Inzaghi’s starting eleven last season, appearing in 30 matches across all competitions, assisting four goals along the way.
