Now former Sampdoria boss Siniša Mihajlović started as an assistant to Roberto Mancini at Inter and now finds himself in his toughest role yet, manager of A.C. Milan

Upon the conclusion of his playing career with Inter, the Serbian Siniša Mihajlović began his quest to become a manager. Of course, you must start in a smaller role and for the former nerazzurri player, that was as an assistant to Roberto Mancini, who played alongside Mihajlovič for several seasons in Italy with Inter, Sampdoria and Lazio. After the dismissal of Mancini as boss of Internazionale in 2008, Mihajlovic departed which marked the beginning of the 46-year old’s career as a tactician.

Since then, Mihajlović took control of Bologna as the “main man”, followed by Catania and the viola before leading the Serbian national team in 2012. But it was his performance as manager of Sampdoria from 2013 until this past season that earned him the notoriety to be linked with some of the best clubs in Italy in Napoli and Milan. According to Sky Sports, Mihajlović has agreed to personal terms to take the helm as Rossoneri manager after primary target to replace Inzaghi, Carlo Ancelotti, declined the offer to be the manager next season.

Siniša Mihajlović is expected to be announced as manager of A.C. Milan next week, according to Sky Sports, in what will be the toughest task in his managerial career considering the circumstances he will be placed in.
