Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura has spoken to the media about Pippo Inzaghi and believes his side will fight for the title next season.
In his interview with Sky, the former Atalanta midfielder said,:
“The results of the team this year have not been great but it hasn’t been all negative for me. I moved from a provincial club to one of the best clubs in Italy and I’m convinced that this team will fight for the top spots next season. I think we have a great group of directors that are doing their best to ensure that we return to the top. This year I don’t know what we were lacking but it goes without saying that we all could have gave more. We don’t deserve to be this low in the standings.”
On Pippo Inzaghi, the Milan midfielder said,:
“The manager has been immense for me because as soon as I arrived he gave me confidence. He believed in me and helped me play well for a club as big as Milan and not crumble under the pressure. Inzaghi has the right ideas and prepares us well for games. It has been an unlucky year for us but we will demonstrate our quality next season.”
Bonaventura concluded by talking about Carlo Ancelotti and the rumors linking him to a return to Milan. He told reporters,:
“His track record and career speaks for itself. Inzaghi, however, has another year on his deal and I can’t say more than that. Inzaghi can become a great manager. It’s not easy to have a season like this but he can become great.”
