Roma boss Rudi Garcia spoke to the media following his side’s impressive win against Juventus at the Stadio Olimpico.
The former Lille boss was happy with his team’s performance today against the Italian champions but conceded the fact that there is still room for improvement. The Frenchman told Sky Sport the following,:
“I saw a Roma side that created chances, dictated play and went out there with the collective desire to do well. Moreover, the team played with a collective spirit and with the right approach and mentality. In defense, I was forced to make a few choices and luckily it went well for me. I didn’t want to play Digne from the beginning but he understood how the team plays early. I’m happy for the players who worked extremely hard today. That said, when we were up a man and by two goals, we had to do better. After our first goal, we forgot to press them but still held a fantastic shape. It’s still early in the season but I like playing games like these as they give us confidence. The players know the road ahead of them. It’s a good start and the international break will help the new players break in to the team. The next fifteen days will be important for us. Juventus, however, are still a strong side.”
