After the sale of Arturo Vidal, Giuseppe Marotta promised the Juventus faithful a top player in the attacking third. Today, Chelsea’s Juan Cuadrado arrives on a season-long loan in hopes of redeeming himself in Italy.
Over the last week, news broke around Italy that Juventus acquired Juan Cuadrado from Chelsea on a loan deal. The bianconeri will reportedly pay the English champions €1.5m to loan the Colombian for the season but there will be no obligated option to purchase him. Looking at this deal from the outside, it can be said that it benefits all parties. From Chelsea’s perspective, they don’t have to sell Cuadrado for a loss and instead give him the chance to prove his worth. Juventus, on the other hand, will get a player that is eager to prove himself and has shown in the past that he’s world class on his day. Despite the fact that the former Fiorentina man’s stay in London has been far from ideal, the winger still has a lot to offer Massimiliano Allegri’s men. The question, however, is what exactly will Cuadrado bring to the table for his new side.
