Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic spoke to the media following a man of the match display against Juventus.
The Bosnian international was sensational tonight and capped off his performance with an incredible free kick. In addition to his goal-scoring exploits, Pjanic was a constant thorn in Allegri’s side and popped up just about everywhere on the field. Given last year’s struggles, this will come as an added bonus for Garcia and his side. After the game he spoke to Sky Sport about the game and had extremely high praise for his new teammate, Edin Dzeko. He told reporters,:
“The free kick was at the perfect distance for me. I knew exactly what I was going to do from here. In the past, it sometimes went in and I sometimes came really close with this type of free kick. I’m happy that my goal was important.”
Outside of scoring these types of goals, do you deserve credit for bringing in Edin Dzeko?
“The credit must go to the president and to the director. I was already familiar with Dzeko and got along with him well in preseason. He was waiting for his moment. He’s a striker that will score a lot of goals for us. He will put himself at the disposal of the coach and he will then decide who plays or not.”
Was Roma’s midfield the best feature of the side tonight?
” I don’t think so. I always talk about the team as a whole. It depends a lot about the quality of our play. Today we played well as there was fluidity in our play. If we play like this all the time, we will be the superior team at the end. We got three important points for the future in the league. We must count on everybody to help out.”
