Juventus Crowned 2014-2015 Serie A Champions And Claim 33rd Scudetto

On May 2nd, Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus traveled to Sampdoria’s Luigi Ferraris and beat Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men by a score of 1-0. This win secured the bianconeri’s 33rd Scudetto and their fourth in as many years.

Going into this match, Juventus only needed one point to guarantee the title due to their 14 point buffer over second place Lazio. Allegri opted for a rather strong starting eleven ahead of Juventus’ Champions League game against Real Madrid as Gianlugi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Claudio Marchisio, Arturo Vidal, Roberto Pereyra and Carlos Tevez all started. In the 32nd minute of the game, it was the Serie A champions Chilean superstar Vidal who nodded home a header past a helpless Emiliano Viviano from a Lichtsteiner cross.

With their win, Juventus jump up to 79 points in the standings. As of right now, la vecchia signora have racked up 24 wins, 7 draws and 3 losses on the season. In addition to their latest league title, Juventus find themselves in the semi-finals of the Champions League against Spanish giants Real Madrid and are in the Coppa Italia final against a resurgent Lazio side. Now that the title is locked up, they can now focus solely on the cup competitions and can even begin dreaming about a potential treble.

Uomo Scudetto: Carlos Tevez

While this Scudetto was won due to a team effort, the exploits of a certain Argentine stand out the most throughout the season. Former Manchester City man Carlos Tevez currently leads the capocannoniere race with 20 goals and has played as big a role in this team’s success as anyone. However, it would be massively understating his importance to just point to his stats as the Juventus forward is very much at the heart of anything good for his side. Moreover, his never say die attitude is infectious and has spread throughout the team.
