The British Sky Sports claims that Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all following the young Greek centrehalf, as they all look to bolster their backline for the coming season.
Meanwhile, yesterday Roma’s owner James Palotta questioned “Why would Manolas not remain at Roma? He has a contract, if he wants more money? He’s happy.”
The highly-touted 25-year-old has been watched by many top clubs around Europe ever since arriving to Roma, as the Giallorossi look to keep their young starlet.
Since arriving from Olympiakos in 2014 for roughly €13 million, Manolas has developed into one of the best defenders in Serie A. However, in order to acquire him, Roma will not go cheaply.
A clause in the deal with the Greek side says that they are entitled to a portion of the profit of a future sale. Meaning Roma’s cut would be significantly less than the agreed percentage.
