The Partenopei want to strengthen between the posts and consider the Atalanta goalkeeper as their future Number One.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are in negotiations with Atalanta for shot-stopper Marco Sportiello as the long-term replacement for Pepe Reina. The offer tabled by Napoli is set a €5 million plus Luigi Sepe but the Bergamo-based club want the cash amount to be upped to €7 million.
The 24-year old Sportiello is seen as one of the potential heir to the throne to be left behind by Gianluigi Buffon the day he hangs up his cleats. In 36 appearances last season, he collected 11 clean sheets.
