Paganese close to Lega Pro reprieve

To say it has been a turbulent summer for Lega Pro would be an understatement as the league and its clubs have been beset with financial problems. With the season only weeks away the division is still some way short of filling its preset quota of 60 teams for the 2016/17 campaign.

However the number of clubs who are set to take part in the new season looks for now at least as if it has been boosted by one. Having initial been denied their place in the league it looks as if the southern club Paganese will indeed be allowed to compete in Lega Pro this year.

Like so many at this level the club are struggling financially and because of this were denied a Lega Pro licence. Now though Tuttomercatoweb is reporting that the Azzurrostellato have come to an arrangement with the Inland Revenue over a tax dispute and will quickly appeal the decision to expel them from Lega Pro, with a positive outcome likely.
