Napoli will offload Koulibaly for a high price, then look to reinvest right away.
Yesterday, his agent Bruno Satin confirmed the Radio CRC, that his client was interested in a move away from Naples. With Chelsea and Everton looming, the club has placed a sizable price tag on the Senegalese defender.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Azzurri are asking for €45 million for the 25-year-old. Which seems a touchable fee for the English clubs who have long been interested in the former Genk and Metz defender.
At the moment, Napoli have two defenders shortlisted to take Koulibaly’s place. Those include Nikola Maksimovoic and Shkodran Mustafi, both have extensive Serie A experience.
Maksimovic has long been linked with a switch to the south, while the World Cup winner Mustafi hasn’t quite found Valencia to be the land of milk and honey.
The other long shot is Daniele Rugani of Juventus, a pupil of coach Maurizio Sarri, although a reunion is unlikely to occur.
