The Brazilian center-back is the latest transfer target at top of the mercato list of Lazio.
As per Sky Sport, Lazio will be sending a representative down to Brazil in the coming days to try and close out a deal for Sao Paolo center-back, Rodrigo Caio. The young defender will be representing his home nation at the Rio Olympics and therefore would only head over to Italy, should a deal be completed, after the Olympics.
The 22-year old already has 14 caps with Brazil’s Senior National Team and is a product of Sao Paolo’s youth system. He compiled a total of 18 appearances this season so far, including 13 in the Copa Libertadores.
