The representatives of the Argentinian striker want a high-priced release clause to be guaranteed by Napoli should he sign.
The Partenopei are not planning to waste their time with the money they will earn from Higuain’s sale. Contacts have been made with Mauro Icardi’s camp to discuss him replacing his Argentinian compatriot at the San Paolo. As per Sky Sport, the striker’s entourage have reportedly asked Napoli to have a €100 million release clause inserted into his future contract.
A move to Napoli would allow Icardi to get his first taste of Champions League football. The former capocannoniere would be an added boost to cushion the loss of Gonzalo Higuain and a possible link-up with Lorenzo Insigne could be one of the most thrilling attacking duos in Serie A, should a transfer take place.
