Ferraro: “The Transfer Market Makes You Rich”

Sampdoria continue to make good profits from the sale of key players, but Coach Giampaolo is understandably concerned that he will not have a competitive enough squad.

Since the commencement of the summer transfer window, Sampdoria have sold off a number of key players to bolster their coffers. Ferraro has sanctioned the sales of Correa to Sevilla for 15million, Fernando to Spartak Moscow for 13 million, and as of today Italian international Soriano has moved to Villarreal for 13.5 million euros. The club has thus far made a total of 41.5 million euros off of these sales. This is on the back of paltry investment into the Sampdoria of  only 10 million euros.
Ferraro is quoted as saying:
“The transfer market makes you rich”
New coach Giampaolo is not happy with the sale of key figures in his squad. According to Gazzetta dello Sport Giampaolo has expressed his concern over the market, and the players being brought into the squad. Ferraro has in fact invested a smaller amount as opposed to the incoming money brought in from outgoing transfers. In total 10 million has been spent on the following; 1.8m for Budimir from Crotone, 4m for Schick from Sparta Prague,a loan for Castan from Roma and Djuricic from Benfica, 3 million for Linetty and finally 3m for Cigarini.
These transfers are “not likely to solve the problem,””admitted Giampaolo.
Ferraro still considers this trasnfer market as a resounding success.
