For weeks, Napoli have been courting Torino’s in-demand defender Nikola Maksimovic but could not get over the obstacles that stood in the way. The Partenopei have been feeling the pressure from Chelsea for Kalidou Koulibaly, but were unwilling to let him go without finding a replacement. Now, it seems as if the Maroons will finally relinquish the Serbian and allow him to join Napoli.
The latest from Gianluca Di Marzio reports that an agreement is “close” between Torino and Napoli for Maksimovic.
The window is set to close tomorrow in Italy which means we could see a new-look defense in Naples should Koulibaly in fact make the switch to London.
