Following Inter’s 1-1 draw vs Palermo, head coach Frank De Boer spoke to Premium Sport regarding his thoughts on the match.
“We played much better than we did last week, we are disappointed because we could have won 4-1 judging from how we played the second half. We are not happy but we have come a long way. We have already made a few detailed changes and I have faith that we will be able to obtain three points in the next matches. We were unlucky to have conceded on their first shot, however, we did create lots of chances.”
Candreva – “We have a lot of quality in the squad. He could have started but we have a lot of alternatives. You could see he was eager to make a difference from the get go. Eder is in better physical condition than Candreva, although not at 100%.”
Regarding the third sub – “Because of all the pressure we were putting them under, it was only a matter of time before the 2-1 arrived. I didn’t have a motive for switching any players.”
On what needs to be worked on during the break – “Hard to say, many players are leaving to their national teams. We have to improve on the physical side, we have to work on many things and on how the players will adapt to what I ask of them.”
