Napoli face problems with UEFA over Stadio San Paolo

UEFA has not shown signs of approving the Stadio San Paolo as acceptable to host Champions League matches.

UEFA are heavily cracking down on the partenopei.  Napoli are facing a quite embarrassing and risky situation with UEFA over their coveted Stadio San Paolo’s condition.  According to Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino, there are numerous problems UEFA would like addressed, however the most urgent are; the condition of the bathrooms, the away team’s locker room, and the restyling of the pitch’s sprinkler system.

Due to all of these problems Napoli face with their stadium, UEFA may force Napoli to find a neutral stadium to host their first UCL “home” match.  The location being evaluated for this neutral site could be Palermo’s Renzo Barbera.

It would be a shame if Napoli were to be forced to host their first UCL match of the season away from the Stadio San Paolo.  It would not only look bad on Napoli as a club, but also Italian football as a whole.  Hopefully Napoli get the necessary improvements UEFA are looking for and this problem can be averted.
