The former Primavera winger will begin his new adventure with Novara in Serie B this season.
Despite having a successful stint in Roma’s Primavera squad, Francesco Di Mariano never took the pitch for the first-team. Two loan deals later and the nephew of Salvatore ‘Toto’ Schillaci is now saying goodbye to the Eternal City. The 20-year old Palermo native is being shipped off to Novara, a deal which was officially announced on the Serie B side’s official website:
Novara Calcio is pleased to inform journalists and fans, that an agreement has been reached for the outright transfer of Francesco Di Mariano, center midfielder, born in 1996, from A.S. Roma. Having taken his first steps in the youth system of Palermo, the player transferred to Roma, collecting 19 goals in 52 appearances with the Primavera. Last season, after a first half loan at Ancona, the player was sent to Monopoli, appearing in 29 games and scoring 5 goals.
