Tottenham table €45 million bid for Inter’s Icardi

The London club have put an offer forward for the Inter captain.

Mauro Icardi has long attracted the interest of Arsenal and other top EPL clubs in the past, but it is Tottenham who have put a bid forward for the striker.

The Spurs have sent directors to Milano to meet with Inter’s brass and today they met with Icardi’s agent. They are ready to offer around €45 million, according to Sky Italy.

Inter still is reluctant on selling the former Barcelona forward, but they will wait for the official bid to come through before making a definite decision. Financial Fair Play restrictions have greatly impacted the Nerazzurri’s ability to compete in the market and usually requires a sale before they can buy new players.

Last summer, Mateo Kovacic was sold to Real Madrid for a fee of €31 million. Meanwhile, sources value Mauro Icardi at around €32 million, but Inter are asking for a figure closer to €50 million.

So far, Tottenham is the first club to signal serious interest in the forward, while other clubs like Atletico and Arsenal have just mulled the possibility of acquiring the Argentina man.
