Juventus defender Patrice Evra has spoken to the media following his side’s disappointing defeat to Napoli and is clearly not one to make excuses.
Over the course of his career, Evra has developed a winning mentality and a mentor for countless players. In his post-match press conference, the veteran defender has stuck to his true colors and refuses to make excuses. He told reporters,:
“I’m not looking for excuses, we’re all responsible. It’s true that we are bit younger but it shouldn’t serve as an excuse. It is a difficult moment but I am not one to panic. This defeat hurts less than the draw against Frosinone. Now we must focus on Wednesday, we have to win in the Champions League.”
Can the Champions League be used to get you guys out of this funk?
“We don’t have to say that Juventus are stronger in Europe. A lot of people underrate the quality of the Italian league. Every team wants to win against us. Those who don’t assume their responsibilities shouldn’t wear the jersey. I’m calmly waiting for the games against Sevilla and Bologna. We want to win to at home.”
What makes you so confident?
“I’m an optimist. We are not panicking and the young players are concentrated. If people want to make excuses, well, I can’t agree with them.”
