Today’s win against Genoa came at a cost for Juventus as their striker, Alvaro Morata, went down injured within the first twenty minutes of the game.
The Italian champions were dealt with yet another blow earlier today when Alvaro Morata went down with a muscular injury in the twenty second minute of action. The former Real Madrid man couldn’t finish the game and was subbed off by Roberto Pereyra. Over the last few weeks, Morata’s play was steadily improving and he began showing his last season’s form.
Against Manchester City, he was able to net the winner and gift his side a huge three points. The Spanish forward is not the first player to go down this season with muscular injury for Juventus this season as it has become a bit of a recurring theme. Earlier in the year, Sami Khedira, Kwadwo Asamoah and Claudio Marchisio among others are a few of the team’s players to go down with similar injuries.
While they will undoubtedly miss the player’s contributions up top, Juventus are well equipped to deal with his absence as Allegri will have the luxury to choose between Mario Mandzukic, Simone Zaza, Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado.
