Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina spoke to juventus.com today and shared his thoughts with them about the new season among other things.
The young midfielder joined the bianconeri in the summer transfer window and came in as unknown territory. Prior to his move to the Italian champions, everyone knew that Lemina was certainly talented but were unsure about his ability to step up his game at a big club. Now, two games into his Juventus career the former Marseille man has shown everyone exactly why he is so highly rated and has rarely put a foot wrong when playing in front of the defense.
In addition to his tidy play on the field, Lemina has shown a great personality off it. Today, the player told Jtv,:
“We know that we have dropped many points. It’s true, we have a lot of young players but we have to mature as a team and avoid conceding goals in the last minutes of games. Everyone must be aware of their responsibilities. Moving forward, I’ll look to be even more ready, to make the team play with more fluidity, and to recover as many balls as possible and stop the opposition’s forwards.”
Despite the fact that the 22-year-old has only been with the team for a little over a month, he has already understood what Juventus are all about. This can largely be attributed to the leadership skills of Patrice Evra and Paul Pogba, who have been crucial in his transition. Lemina continued to tell reporters,:
“Pogba and Evra are really important for me as they are helping me get integrated into the team. A lot of people are trying to give me advice even if there is a language barrier. Paul and Patrice always translate what the others are telling me. Evra, in particular, has helped me a lot on the field which makes it easier for me to get used to things here. The boss told me to integrate myself into the team quickly because I play in an important role. I always must remain focused as I play in front of the defense. Allegri talks to me a lot. He doesn’t want to lose me, so to speak, in this big team. When we played Juventus this summer in a friendly with Marseille, I never imagined I would be here. I hope to stay here for a long time. When I got here, I was immediately impressed. This is the biggest team in Italy with champions who have won many trophies. My objective is to work hard and to reach important targets with this team.”
Lemina has started the last two games for Juventus and is showing important qualities already. If he is able to continue in the same vein, there is no saying just how far he can go.
