Lazio were once again humiliated in a Serie A road game, this time against Napoli.
At no point during the encounter did Lazio look to be a threat to Napoli Sunday evening. The capital club were able to only put one shot on target and were constantly under pressure in their own half. Manager Stefano Pioli provided his thoughts about the game to Rai Sport.
“Now we have to be men. These are heavy beatings. We have to respond immediately and be aware that we need to change stride.”
To Pioli’s credit he did not use fatigue as an excuse for the team citing that both Lazio and Napoli played on Thursday. When asked if the team can regain last years form, Pioli said:
“It depends on us. It is clear that the more players I have available the better it will be. I have a competitive team and so was the team that took the field today. We have to do better.”
The good news for I Biancocelesti is that they will not have time to dwell on this loss with their next fixture coming mid-week at home against Genoa.
